Two posts in one weekend after months of silence, what is happening? At Living a Sustainable Dream, I decided to put a few posts up this Easter Season.
As I write this, I really don’t know how to explain the lapse in blogging without getting into the weeds of these past 2 years. As all of you have experienced your own personal journey through the challenges imposed upon us by others, it gets too surreal to even think about it.
One thing I do know is a Savior entered the world two millennia ago to offer humanity a different way to look at life. Love others as you would have them love you, forgive others first, turn the other cheek, live at peace with your neighbor, be humble, love God and obey his commands. The last one in the list is interesting since many people over the years I have talked to, think the 10 Commandments are too restrictive. A humble person would see it differently. The Commandments encourage healthy relationship between God and humanity, parents and children, and people and the society in which they live.
Imagine if everyone followed these simple 10 Commandments that discuss such issues as do not kill, do not lie, do not covet other people’s stuff. The news wouldn’t have much to report on these days would they? Remember this Easter season, you have a God that loves you to the point He took your sins upon Himself.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
The Christian faith is that simple, believe in Jesus’ teachings and what He did for us on the cross and on the 3rd day, obey the Commandments, love one another, try not to be selfish. Our Heavenly Father, once said through the Old Testament prophet Micah. “What doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.” That’s pretty much it. If more of us would do this, and I am calling out my fellow Christians, the world would be a better place.
And that is something people claiming, “Do what thou wilt.” will never be able to do.
Two years ago, our church closed its doors for the first time during the Easter season due to the pandemic. I created this video on our other website and channel, Living a Sustainable Faith, in response. Governments may shutdown a building, but they will never shutdown the human spirit. In the video I discuss humility, a lesson I am continually working on daily in my life. Hopefully, this video will bless you in this season of your life.
Beautiful said, Mark. Have a blessed Resurrection Sunday.🙌 Thankful for you.
